Boat type
Dual console
Purpose
Dual consoles have two helm stations with a walk-through windshield — more weather protection than a center console, still a day-boat layout. Less common than center console or bowrider in the primer.
Best suited for
- Lakes and protected coastal water
- Families wanting windshield and some weather cover
- Day cruising with 4–6 people
- Boaters who want console seating without a full cabin
Size options
- Trailerable day boats
- 20–24 ft — lake and bay use
- Larger coastal
- 25–28 ft — more seakeeping, may need bigger tow
